The Department of the Administrative and Municipal Law of the Law faculty of VSU is an administering one to the educational  program for the higher professional education for specialization 030501 «Law». The Department carries out training, methodological and organizing activities in the following areas:

• Administrative law;
• Municipal law;
• Administrative law in foreign countries;
• Public state service (service law);
• Administration legal acts;
• Police law;
• Administrative liability;
• Administrative procedure;
• Administrative justice (the administrative legal proceedings);
• Administrative legal regulation of  the anti-corruption activities;
• Local government competence;
• Customs law;
• International customs law.

The Department of Administrative and Municipal Law has designed master’s educational programs for school leavers who want to do a master’s degree at the Law faculty of VSU in the direction of training 030900.68 «Law», for the following courses:

• Contemporary issues of administrative law;
• Administrative legal proceedings in the Russian Federation: theory and practice;
• State and the municipal service in the Russian Federation: the issues of administrative – legal regulation;
• Information law;
• State and municipal supervision in the local government system;
• Administrative liability: theory, legislation, the issues of enforcement and reforming;
• Administrative supervision in the Russian Federation;
• Administrative legal acts in the Russian Federation;
• Construction law;
• Administrative law of Voronezh Region;
• Administrative execution orders of state functions and the provision of state services;
• Administrative procedures in the Russian Federation;
• Anti-corruption expertise of regulatory legal acts (administrative legal acts);
• Modernization of social-economic development and administrative-political area.

The educational process is completely provided with methodological literature, manuals and study letters (both for bachelors and masters). The library of Voronezh state university provides all necessary sources for the successful teaching and studying of the above listed educational disciplines.

Scientific and methodological activities

The Department regularly issues manuals, study letters, case studies and monographies. The Department members are regular authors of scientific journals and collections of scientific papers issued by the Law faculty of VSU and issued by other higher education institutes of the country academic and research publications. The teachers of the Department are members of editorial boards of a number of science-to-practice magazines issued in Russia.

The subdivision of Administrative and Municipal Law successfully works as a leading organization in the procedures of preparation and presentation of master’s and doctor’s dissertations at Dissertation Councils of higher education institutes in the Russian Federation. The members of the Department often appear as opponents to doctor’s and master’s dissertations. The average number of 8–12 master’s and doctor’s dissertations is discussed at the faculty meetings every academic year; over 30 expert opinions on author’s abstracts of dissertations accepted to presentation by Dissertation Councils of the country.
